About Me!

Romantic Fiction Author

Let me introduce myself....

Hi! My name is Sharron. I haven't studied creative writing or an English degree.  Neither have I forged a career in writing through journalism or publishing.  I am just a normal, middle-aged mother of three grown up children who had a story to tell.

I may not know a lot about the academic writing world, but what I do know a lot about is romance, heart ache and Greece. Having worked in the wedding industry for over fifteen years, I have soaked up fairytales and witnessed thousands of love stories sail off into the happily ever after. I have also resided in Cyprus, the island of the Goddess of love, Aphrodite, and lived the dreamy Greek way of life. Plus, like many, I have had my heart ripped out, stamped on and then carefully repaired by my own knight in shining armour.

My first book, Where Rosemary Grows, was written after falling in love with the Greek island of Kefalonia during a holiday in 2019.  This resulted in me spending an entire year writing about a fantasy that had manifested in my mind as I soaked up the Greek sunshine, while surrounded by the intoxicating aromas and hypnotic vistas of the island. My book was finally self-published in May 2020 during the first Covid-19 lockdown to help support me financially after the world ground to a halt. It seemed to give my readers an element of escapism from the crazy world we found ourselves in.  After an outcry of demands for a follow up to the storyline, the Sophie Sagas, were created and the start of my writing adventures began.

All my books are short, easy read stories that allow you to disappear to another time or country just for a few delicious hours.  The places that I write about are all real, the history factual and the characters based on people that I meet on my travels.

Testimonial from my readers

I really enjoyed reading this. The beautiful islands of Kefalonia and Ithaca are so well described and bring back memories of times spent there. The lovely connections made by Sophie and Nikolas and his family bring home happy times spent in the Greek islands. I can't believe that this is the first novel written by Sharron Taylor. It is so well written.
